Hand of Rán: Iados, The Drowned Demon

Warrior. Executioner. Cursed. An orphan boy, raised by a religious protector of the seas, finding a purpose among the waves. As his mentor fell at the edge of a pirate’s blade. Iados, as the only surviving member of the ship, floated adrift for days until the Dark Rulers of the Ocean, Rán the Drowned and Aegir the Maelstrom, made a pact with him which would exchange him the power to get revenge, in exchange for his service. Now, Iados sails as the Ocean’s wrath. The Demonic Captain of The Jormungandr, he sends contemptuous souls to the ocean bed in Rán’s name. With every day he sails closer to his death, only to be born again as the Warrior who shall ensure Rán’s survival in the battle of Ragnarök. Whereafter he shall forever stand at her side. There is no afterlife for Iados, only the depths of Ránbeod.
